New Allen Location

Plano Relocation
Acute Kids is excited to announce that we have moved our Plano clinic to a more visible location at Parker and N Dallas Tollway. It is located on the NW corner, between Hallmark and Radio Shack, in the Academy/Kroger shopping center. July 23rd will be our first day of business at our new Castle-themed clinic. Plano Relocation
Press Release: PLANO, TEXAS – ACUTE KIDS URGENT CARE will be relocating its Plano Clinic on July 23 to the Northwest Corner of W. Parker and N. Dallas Parkway in the Kroger Shopping Center. Acute Kids opened its first after hours Pediatric Urgent Care Clinic in Frisco more than 5 years ago and has been steadily expanding in the N. Dallas area with 3 other locations – Plano, McKinney, Flower Mound. The original Plano location at 7000 Plano Parkway opened in 2004. In October of 2008, Acute Kids will add a clinic in Allen on the NW Corner of McDermott and Hwy 75 North.
Dr. Gary Gerlacher, Founder and CEO, says, “Collin County’s pediatric population has exploded over the last 10 years. Acute Kids Urgent Care was created to help meet the needs of this growing population.”
Acute Kids has a staff of 18 doctors, all Pediatricians, who rotate among the 4 clinics, which are open Monday- Friday, 5:00 PM-Midnight and on Weekends, noon to 8 PM, with no appointment necessary. In 2007 Acute Kids Urgent Care saw over 32,000 patients with the assistance of their 80+ staff members. Acute Kids prides itself on the services offered which include such conveniences as prescriptions faxed to pharmacy of patient’s choice, visit summary faxed to their pediatrician, and remarkably, the average visit is less than 30 minutes. Says Dr. Gary Gerlacher, who previously practiced as an ER Pediatric Specialist in a major Dallas Hospital, “Acute Kids is able to perform many of the same services an emergency room provides, but we can do it more efficiently, more economically, and in a more child friendly environment.”
Acute Kids Urgent Care has recently won acclaim as one of Dallas’ Best Places to Work by the Dallas Business Journal and has won awards as one of the Collin County’s Fastest Growing Businesses two years in a row, 2007 and 2008. In 2007, Acute Kids won the Celebration of Enterprise Award and the Best of Frisco Award. Next month, Christie Hutchinson, Director of Nursing, will be named one of the Health Care Heroes by the Dallas Business Journal.

Beginning June 1st, Acute Kids - Frisco will no longer have daytime hours for FISD students. All of the clinics will have the following hours: Monday-Friday 5pm-Midnight and Sat/Sun Noon-8pm. Please call if you have any questions regarding our hours of operation.
